CAGED

Hi everyone.

It is with a heavy heart that the mods have come to the decision of closing Caged. We realize that all of you have great hopes and plans for your characters in the upcoming months, but with two of three mods facing some major RL issues, we decided that it was best to close the game rather than give a mediocre setting for you all to play and participate in. We have enjoyed each and every moment of these past five months (including the initial holds, and the memes and every single moment of actual play) and we thank each and every one of you for the amazing memories you have given us via this game.

We did not anticipate ending Caged so abruptly, but given the state of mind that we are in presently, this was the best course of action. We hope that you will understand, and we hope that we can all play together in the relatively near future.

Thanks for an excellent game, everyone. We couldn't have made it for so long without such active and wonderful players. And please feel free to participate in the future plans meme.

Hello, I'm Nell (igpayatinlay) and I think I know about half of you, but for those who I don't yet, nice to meet you. :) I'm a graphic designer living in Washington State, late 20s, and I can sometimes be shy about approaching new people but I think I warm up pretty quickly, especially if you're in chat. Some people might also know quibblercons which is me, and from that Ronnie asked me to change an s1 layout to s2 so they could use tags better, and that made me lucky enough to be able to hold this bastard before the slaughterfest of Holds Night #1.

This is Seamus Finnigan, who can be a little loud and brash and used to be quite a lot of fun with his willingness to try most anything and a fondness for blowing things up, but recent events have put a bit of a damper on his usually jovial mood. He's the sort of person who is a crazy nice guy until you make it on his naughty list, and then he has no qualms about saying or doing awful things about/to you - the good thing is that it's fairly hard to get on that list (Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle, Bulstrode, Edgecombe). It's considerably harder to get to know Seamus on a deeper level as he has some trust/confidence issues with regard to being seen as boring, but he is observant, capable of being sensitive, and a (secretive!) writer. This past summer has been spent working at his parents' pub/inn in Kilkenny, Ireland, shacking up with Rosheen Doyle, the Muggle girl down the lane, and hanging out with Dean. His mother is under the impression that she's convinced him to continue on this path rather than return to Hogwarts, and Seamus will find the mandatory attendance policy to be a good cover for something he already planned to do anyhow - though he'll be heartbroken, losing Dean! :(

• His mum's a handful to say the least
• Very much likes blowing things up
• Huge Kenmare Kestrals fan

3 THINGS CLOSE FRIENDS WOULD KNOW ABOUT SEAMUS

• Keeps journals, though no one is allowed to look in them
• Has some tension with his father, who isn't a big fan of magic
• Likes a drink but often acts drunker than he really gets, unless it's at home in Kilkenny

3 THINGS NO ONE WOULD KNOW ABOUT SEAMUS

• Writes poems, though 90% of the time he tears them out of his journal and burns them up
• Has been seriously contemplating quitting magic altogether this summer
• Once had a sexy dream about Professor McGonagall

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

• Chess - you people may not always want him there but he likes it, okay? His set is not at all gracious when winning, and it's obvious that he's trying to smother similar excitement.
• Prefect - possibly even more biased against Slytherin than Ron was, but he won't lie to get them in trouble, just delights in catching them doing anything wrong.
• Ummm, we're not sure yet if he's going to get stuck on quidditch or not. If he is... he's really sorry guys. >.<

Dean is his best friend, but I'm open to other friends too. He isn't highly antagonistic unless he expressly doesn't like you, but if your character doesn't like him that's totally good by me (let me know if there's anyone who's a jerk to him, you might get on the list. :P). We know he went to the Yule Ball with Lavender; I'd be sort of picky in terms of any other dating history but if someone wants to chat about that let me know. Lastly, if anyone has a large Irish Catholic family, let me know as I'd love to cousin up if we can work it out!
